The Kitchen Hand

cold feet
felt like fire
numb fingers
bluish hands
tired arms
stiff and sore
sitting duck
on a doorstep
sleepy eyes
red and teary
bird's nest hair
dry and fragile
so hungry
no spoon and fork
harsh wind blowing
covering me
as if a blanket
in my sleep
warm tears
rolling in my cheeks
giving comfort
to restless soul
still waiting
for the unknown
minutes went
then he came
no more tears
we head back home.
